When I started as an entrepreneur, my focus was on the present. I was caught up in the day-to-day tasks of running a business. Every day was about solving problems, growing, getting new clients, improving operations, and managing the team. And then, one day, I faced a question I hadn’t given enough thought to: had I ever thought about my E***?

Looking back, I realise how important it is to think about an exit strategy, even when your business is still young. An exit strategy is not about giving up or ending your journey. My own journey started with a small startup that grew into a successful multi-million Euro company. However, we didn’t have an exit strategy until someone approached us with an offer. We hadn’t prepared for it and were in a tough spot. My personal coach was not amused. He told us we needed to get our house in order. We needed to know our worth. So, we improved our financials and processes, we set clear goals, and we got ready for what was to come. So, I ask this question to you, fellow entrepreneur. Are you ready? - How can we keep a diverse and loyal group of customers?
- How can we keep diverse, talented, engaged and loyal staff?
- What makes us unique?
Addressing these questions made our business stronger. It made us ready not just for a possible exit, but also for the challenges of today.
It’s time for you to start thinking about your exit strategy. It’s time to work on your business, not just in it. This shift in thinking is key to your growth as an entrepreneur.
